“Skyfall” is the title of the theme song from the 23rd film in the series of works about the 007 agent James Bond. The song was written and performed by the famous British singer Adele. “Skyfall’s” co-writer is Paul Epworth who had previously worked on the production of other songs for Adele (e.g. “Rollin in the Deep”) and other artists like Florence and The Machine, Paul McCartney and others. Released on the Global James Bond Day in 2012, the song quickly conquered the most famous music charts like UK Singles and Billboard Hot 100. It topped iTunes and won three prestigious awards at once – Academy Award, Brit Award and Golden Globe. Although being quite hesitant after receiving an offer to write a song for a James Bond film, Adele soon agreed as she read the plot and fell in love with it. Keeping close to the overall style of the previous theme songs, “Skyfall” has it all: it’s somber, moody and very personal at the same time, which made the song very popular among performers.

As a concert pianist, I am more than satisfied with this music score. I would have never thought that playing this piece could bring me so much satisfaction, the sheet music seems to be very accurate (except for a few minor parts) as long as I was comparing it to the original recording on the album. It might, in fact, cause some difficulties for a beginning pianist but those who aspire to make a perfect reproduction of Adele's authentic Skyfall should definitely give it a try.

Really fascinating song. It is able to evoke the deepest feelings. The music is just above any praises.

This is one of the best song I've ever heard. In fact, it is more than just a song. "Skyfall" is going to live forever.

I could imagine no other song to be associated with this stunning movie! Adele's powerful vocals perfectly match the film's dramatic mood and the song is surprisingly catchy and touching. The joint work of these two talented composers - Adele and Paul - is every time nothing else but a true music chef-d'oeuvre. Thank you for the score!
