Etude for Violin is a technically demanding contemporary work consisting primarily of sevenths. It was excerpted from the third movement of a piece for string trio and voice by the same composer ("Songs . . .", M. Schottenbauer, 1995-1996) at the advice of the violin virtuoso Robert Gerle, due to its pedagogical value.
