The title comes from it being composed for the Thunder All-Stars Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble of Kansas City, MO as its acronym is TASTEE and to be a little humorous, I wanted to use another word for “tasty” as a title and “delectable” is a seldom used synonym. Scored for 6 euphoniums and 6 tubas, Delectable Fanfare and Flourish is a medium fast tempo work, with the expressive tempo marking "Moderate, but still assertive". It uses both quadruple and triple meters with repeated phrases and hocketing, building to tall chords.
