Filled with linguistic riddles and musical irony, Odds and Ends of Trombone Duets provide humorous puzzles and thinking challenge both to the performer and the listener.

A few hints: In English, the term “odds and ends” refers to an assembly of random tools, paraphernalia, “doodads,” and/or junk, such as might be found in an old drawer. Yet, these trombone duets were planned intentionally and named with humorous double meanings in mind. Consider that the word “odd” can also refer to something “unusual,” and that the word “end” can also refer to “closure” or a “final moment.” Tonality, structure, performance instructions, pairings, and order were incorporated with these quirks in mind.

Odds and Ends of Trombone Duets were written by the composer/trombonist at the age of 16. This score is not the final draft, but a marked-up copy with some minor errors. Due to time constraints, this copy is being published as-is. Plans exist to re-enter the duets in a new computer program and re-publish.
