A Cocek, pronounced "Chochek", is a general word used to describe a Romani (Gypsy) dance of Balkan origin. It is typically written in a 4/4 time signature, although there can be other variations. It was often performed by brass bands for weddings and other large funtions. More lip bends can be added in at the discretion of the performer, to capture the 'gypsy' style.
