“Say Something” is a piano ballad by “A great Big World” pop duo from USA. The original solo single was released in 2011 as part of Ian Axel’s album “This Is the New Year” and as the band’s song it was introduced to public in 2013. The usage of the song in “So You Think You Can Dance” TV show attracted Christina Aquilera’s attention and she expressed desire to sing it too. Thus, the song was re-recorded and released in 2014. “Say Something” is a sad indie-pop downtempo song about a difficult breakup. It was praised by the critics for emotional lyrics and Aguilera’s bright vocal performance.

I personally think this song is a very strong comeback for Christina Aguilera. Normally when 'older' artists try to create something new after years of silence, it's usually not too stunning, let's be honest. But this duo made it work! I believe that's because of the personal nature of the song for Christina. And the piano, the piano is beyond any words here, it sounds amazing..

Toll, einfach toll!

oh i thought the song was originally sung by Christina Aguilera, turns out not ) she fits in it fantastically, though, as if that's something she lived herself or, if not, at least feels like she was the one who wrote the song. I like this duo, resulted in a very soft music piece

It's fun how a good song can get noticed suddenly just like that. But for the talent contest we would have probably never got to hear Christina Aguilera perform this song in a duet. Love the melody a lot, it just gets inside of you immediately touching the most sacred. Will definitely try to play it on the piano...

I think this song will never get old and out-dated. That’s the power of good quality lyrics and very touching music. Christina is already a legend, I wasn’t expecting anything less from her, she’s got the perfect voice and the perfect feminine touch for this song. But even without her, the music piece itself would obviously be a hit.

That's one of the most touching and inspiring songs I have heard, ever. Very powerful lyrics and soul-stirring music, something that a lot of people can relate to. Christina is stunning, I love her way more in such a 'mature' image compared to the early works. Thumbs up to "A Great Big World" guys too! That's been a really successful music collaboration... P.S. Though the original song is performed on piano, I quite like the guitar version as well
