Amen, Alleluia! for mixed choir and organ was written in 2012 and is set on Easter phrases from different sources. It is crafted in two parts – the heavy dramatic opening followed by fugato on the „Today Christ is risen“ lyrics and joyful exclamations on antiphone from the „Regina coeli“. The exuberant ending combines those aspects ; symbolically referring to the complexity of Easter – transfiguration of pain and agony into a glory and celebration.
The work was premiered at the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music (UK) on May 15 2014 by the St. Pancras Choir conducted by Christopher Batchelor.
