A gently flowing Level 1 piano duet requiring a good legato technique. Both parts have Treble and Bass staves for easier reading by beginning students. The Primo stays in position throughout and plays 2 octaves higher than written. To make the score clearer for beginners to read, commas instead of slurs have been used to indicate phrasing. The Secondo plays at the written pitch with some minimal position changes. The whole notes (semibreves) in the Secondo part provide a finger pedal effect and should be played as legato as possible. (A teacher or more advanced student could use the pedal, changing every bar.) This piece is descriptive and is meant to convey images of beautiful koi fish swimming peacefully in a pond of waterlillies.
