“Love Me Like You Do” is a song from the 2015 film “Fifty Shades of Grey”. It was written by a team of songwriters – Tove Lo, Savan Kotecha, Ilya Salmanzadeh, Ali Payami and Max Martin – and recorded by Ellie Goulding, a popular English singer-songwriter. The song is the 2nd single on the film’s soundtrack as well as part of Ellie’s 2015 album “Delirium”. American singer Demi Lovato had also been considered for recording the song but the producers fixed upon Ellie and her soft vocals. The electropop ballad “Love Me Like You Do” follows closely the film’s plot and theme speaking about the strong temptation of falling in love and being seduced ‘even if it hurts’. The song brought both the performer and the songwriters a number of awards including Best Pop Solo Performance (Grammy), Best Song Written for Visual Media (Grammy), Best Original Song (Golden Globe), Best Song (Broadcast Film Critics Association). Needless to say, “Love Me Like You Do” also topped the music charts in numerous countries (over 25).

Was für ein toller, starker Song aus einem so schrecklichen Film! So nett und zart und emotionell, und klingt wie eine Ballade aus den 80ern. Mein Freund ist kein besonderer Fan von Popmusik, aber dieses Stück gefällt ihm ganz gut, besonders wenn ich es spiele :)

I was way too intrigued by Fifty Shades of Grey to resist the temptation of playing one if its main themes:) Luckily the sheet music was much easier to read and play than it could initially seem. The piano-vocal version basically incorporates all you may need to play it right, so don't be afraid to embark on the piece even if you are a not a too confident pianist, for example:) Looking into other pieces by Ellie Goulding now.
