"The Whole World Rejoices" is a short motet for 3 a cappella voices for Christmas time. The lyrics are a 14th century latin text. It is in a contemporary style although reminiscent of the early polyphonic idiom. The pdf contains the full text and translation, and is set for either Three women's or children's voices, or for SAB mixed choir. The piece can be doubled by instruments, it can be performed by either a choral ensemble or a trio of soloists.
1.Omnis mundus jocundetur nato Salvatore, Casta mater quae concepit Gabrielis ore.
2. Sonoris vocibus sinceris mentibus, exsultemus et laetemur hodie.
3. Christus natus ex Maria virgine, Gaudeamus et laetemur itaque.
1. The whole world rejoices in the birth of the Savior, The chaste mother became pregnant as Gabriel had said.
2. Raise your voices with sincere hearts, let us rejoice and be glad today.
3. Christ is born of the Virgin Mary, Let us rejoice and be glad therefore.
