"On This Day" is a three-part Christmas motet for equal or mixed voices, that can be performed either during a church service or in a concert - educational format. The text is in Latin, from the 12th c. The vocal parts can be doubled by instruments. It can be performed by either a vocal ensemble or by three soloists. The pdf includes both versions: SSA and SAB voicing.

1. Personent hodie
voces puerulae,
laudantes iucunde
qui nobis est natus,
summo Deo datus,
et de virgineo ventre procreates.

2. In mundo nascitur,
pannis involvitur
praesepi ponitur
stabulo brutorum,
rector supernorum.
Perdidit spolia princeps infernorum.

3. Magi tres venerunt,
munera offerunt,
parvulum inquirunt,
stellulam sequendo,
ipsum adorando,
aurum, thus, et myrrham ei offerendo.

4. Omnes clericuli,
pariter pueri,
cantent ut angeli:
advenisti mundo,
laudes tibi fundo.
Ideo gloria in excelsis Deo.

1. On this day let
children’s voices
merrily sing praises for
He is here, born to us,
given by the highest God,
and conceived from the virgin’s womb.

2. Born into the world,
wrapped in swaddling clothes
he lies in a manger
with the stable animals,
the ruler of the heavens.
The prince of Hell has lost his spoils.

3. Three Wise Men came,
bearing gifts to offer,
they sought the baby,
following a star,
to worship him, offering him
gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

4. Let all the Clergy,
together with the boys,
sing like angels:
you came to the world,
we praise you profoundly.
Hence, glory to God in the highest.
