Between 2017 and 2025, I composed many arrangements of well-known—mostly German—Christmas carols for a saxophone quartet. Many of these pieces have been published as sheet music by Chili Notes; I would like to offer some of the as-yet-unpublished songs for download here.
The Christmas program has often been performed in concerts, and it has also proven to be well-suited for performances at music schools.
Most of the arrangements of Christmas carols have a classical feel, yet they are arranged with a more or less jazzy touch and consistently offer room for improvisation. “Es kommt ein Schiff geladen” is also expanded with a fugue-like interlude.
The MP3 file was created using the Sibelius music composition software, which may result in minor inaccuracies in the performance.
