“If You Ever Want To Be In Love” is a rock song by the Best New Artist of 2016, an English singer, guitarist and songwriter – James Bay. The single was written by Bay, Steve McEwan, and James Hogarth. It was released in 2015 as part of the artist’s first album “Chaos and the Calm” that contains two more rock hits – “Let it Go” and “Hold Back the River” – and was certified platinum. Lyrically, “If You Ever Want To Be In Love” is about the ‘what if’ of teenage school love, the protagonist looks back at the youth time and reflects on what could have happened if he had been bolder to pursue the relationship.

A very satisfying music arrangement, although slightly complex for the beginners if you are just starting to play pop songs like that on your instrument. Main theme, chords, harmonies, melody, all fine, incorporating all the elements necessary to make progress. I'd recommend learning the Let It Go score first and then proceed to If You Ever Want to Be in Love, if you do like James Bay's music
