Ravel's iconic piano piece, "La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin" (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair) is presented here as a Quartet for flutes. I have included an optional cello part which reinforces or replaces the Bass Flute part.
This is one of my personal favorite pieces. Offering a reflective mood, it is the epitome of French Romanticism.
It lends itself especially well to the timbre of the flute.
