Variety Suite No. 1 "Summer Silhouettes" consists of four parts.
The first part - "Sunny Clown" (melody by A. Petrov). The idea came after watching a circus show, in which a famous clown Oleg Popov had portrayed a vivid lyrical picture to the tune.
The second part - "Summer Evening" (valse musette). This piece is a sample of a brilliant virtuoso miniature.
The third part - "July Promenade" (humoresque). To create a humorous mood, the author uses numerous modern touches and ways: different types of glissando, including non tempered glissando, various kinds of vibrato, tremolo and the use of different registers.
The fourth part - "Heat of Love" (samba). The piece depicts traditional rhythms of the Brazilian carnival. In addition to virtuoso skills, it requires of the possession of percussion sound imitating techniques from the performer. The suite refers to the works of the highest complexity and is addressed to concert performers.
