I. Italian Recollections II. Pompousness Floopishness: Two Pieces for Clarinet Solo (1998) was commissioned by Westhard Gerber. They were originally intended as two short encore pieces of contrasting characters (the first, dramatic and sad, and the second one, silly) but are equally suitable to be played together as a diptych.
