The title refers to the Banyan tree (Indian fig), under which The Buddha meditated
for long and achieved Nirvana. The branches of this tree root themselves over great extent.
The music utilizes a similar process: one idea giving birth to the next, which in turn leads
to yet another - and so on. Accordingly, all the motifs and themes sprout from the opening gestures.
