One of O Carolan's finest compositions is sensitively and skillfully presented here, with accessible parts for the players creating lush, tasteful harmonies. From the quiet, sparse opening to the richer ending, the beautiful melody unfolds, shared between violin and cello. At first classical in style, and then, with subtle use of ornamentation adding to the Celtic flavor, this wonderful arrangement is suitable for student and amateur performers. It is perfect for a concert of Irish music.
