Welcome to The Colors of Peace, a project created by the members of The Delian Society! The Delian Society, founded in January 2004, is an international nonsectarian body of composers, performers, scholars, sound technicians, and amateurs dedicated to the renascence of tonal art music. The Society is extraordinarily diverse, and we invite the participation of others around the world who share our artistic visions and goals. Membership is open to all, regardless of race, color, handicap, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, or national origin.
The Colors of Peace is the title of a song composed by Joseph Dillon Ford on 18 March 2004 in response to the criminal acts of terrorism perpetrated by ideological extremists that have resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent human beings, the devastation of the natural and built environment, and the irreparable loss of priceless cultural artifacts. The Colors of Peace is not a song of protest but an affirmation of the life we share and a call for all who can hear to join us on a timeless journey towards the peace that comes with mutual understanding.
How can you participate? Simply download and print "The Colors of Peace" sheet music and sing it in your homes, your schools, your sacred places, your city streets and parks—anywhere and everywhere its message needs to be heard.
