Triptych for solo clarinet was written in Kharkov.
The cycle opens with bright confident call-up intonations that alternate with interrogative suspicion. The middle part is slow and mysterious. Rapidly developing, it passes into the final - the third. The third part is warlike and has a ronde-like structure. In contrast to the first two, free recitative and narrative parts, the third is clear, fast and impetuous.
