Sonatine
For Harp, clarinet and cello.
Sonatine was the first composition during my conservatory years. With general inspiration from my music theory teacher, Danish composer Niels Viggo Bentzon, it was composed as a composition tryout, but a serious one. General shape is A B A, the A part's main theme is a slow and sad melody, as opposed to the main theme in the B section, a joyful faster tune introduced by the clarinet. The meter of the two first bars are 7/8 and 6/8 respectively. First performance at the Conservatory in Copenhagen, second was a TV broadcasting in a series of programs devoted to the music scene in Denmark, on the national channel Danish Radio Broadcasting.
