This collection is the first piece I wrote that became part of the first set of pieces that is "Anarchist Rhapsodies," a collection of 12 pieces that share the same melody and are very similar. What makes this collection different is that each of the 12 pieces are written in a different key signature.

At the time I wrote this piece in 2006, I always believed that key signatures can set the mood for any piece. For d minor, I have always believed that d minor often symbolized struggle and the demand for justice. The reason I titled this piece "The Great Overthrow" was that it was and still is important for respect and tolerance to humanity and justice. In fact, this is one of the few pieces that I actually mailed to a notable American justice attorney as a symbol for my way of fighting justice.

More importantly, I wanted to write a collections of melodies for which the main inspiration at the time was Philip Glass's "Einstein on the Beach." Listening to its repeating pattern, I wanted to emulate this feat, while also having influences from other musicians who are more notable for their methods of piano studying, especially Czerny and Schaum.

This piece is dedicated to the people who have and keep fighting for what they believe is right and just - that is most importantly, freedom from tyranny and oppression.

This is the twelfth piece of the "Anarchist Projects" that I started in 2005, and by far the of the the twelve pieces. The melody was originally intended primarily for a male-audience, especially geared toward a younger audience, primarily preteens and teenagers. Among some of the composers that this piece (and all the other eleven pieces) incorporates includes Bach, Lyadov, Stravinsky and Pachulski, with movie melodies (namely, Lord of the Rings) and even Christmas carols (namely, Here Comes Santa Claus).

The concept originated from the tenth-ever episode of "The Simpsons," titled "Homer's Night Out," which to this date remains my favorite episode. In watching this episode a lot stands out to ponder and reflect: Bart's picture and the nonchalant way of describing the woman; Marge's initial reaction to Homer; her follow-up statement to Homer, reminding him what Bart needs to learn and Homer's quest, along with his oration to a all-male audience about the importance of women.

It was so powerful, it reminded my of what I have gone thorugh and somewhat still going through. Since February 2001 I tended to have a fascination of pictures of scantily-clad and/or nude women. Twice I recalled getting busted (on Good Friday 2001, which was Tax Day that year!), and January 31, 2009.

The episode also reminded me of any lessons learned and whether I learned from those decisions. With sincere reflecting and some heavy Internet searching, I have come to believe that, as Eolake Stobblehouse once wrote "that the beauty of woman is valuable, and that not only is it okay to admire beauty, it is a sin not to." I believe these words very much, just as much as I believe in Homer Simpson's words from "Homer's Night Out," that even though it is important to admire their overall beauty, that I must always remind myself that women "are not mere objects with curves that make us crazy. No, they are our wives, they are our daughters, our sisters, our grandmas, our aunts, our nieces and nephews---well, not our nephews."

In this piece, I had an idea that I did not just need ordinary women or even feminists discussing this topic. Rather, it would be the swimsuit models, lingerie models, and even the soft-core porn models that would preach to the male audience about this topic. How the women would assemble at first would involve an interesting formation: the Macedonian phalanx in an 16x16 formation (I got the idea after having learned about the phalanxes in ninth grade history).

This collection is the third piece I wrote that became part of the first set of pieces that is "Anarchist Rhapsodies," a collection of 12 pieces that share the same melody and are very similar. What makes this collection different is that each of the 12 pieces are written in a different key signature.
At the time I wrote this piece in 2006, I always believed that key signatures can set the mood for any piece. For G minor, I have always believed that G minor, and in particular its equivalent B-flat major, often symbolized optimism and belief against all ods. The reason I titled this piece "Trails of the Dark Horses" was that it was and still is important that people belive they must and can anything against all odds.
This piece is dedicated to various teams who defied all odds to achieve something unprecedented and unexpected. When I first wrote this piece in 2006, the first team to come to mind was Greece at the 2004 European Championships in soccer. Since then, the dedication is listed to the following teams, and the list will still keep growing. Such teams are, but not limited, to:
Greece at the 2004 European Championships in soccer
Switzerland at the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup
2015-16 Leicester City in the English Premier League
2011-12 FC Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga
2011-12 Montpellier HSC in the French Ligue 1
2011-12 Ludogorets Razgrad in Bulgaria
2007-08 Zenit St. Petersburg in the UEFA Cup
Zambia at the 2012 African Cup of Nations
Qatar at the 2019 Asian Cup
This list will still continue to grow, so expect dedications to continue to rise.

This is part of the first collection of pieces that would become known to be the "Anarchist Rhapsodies," a collection of 12 pieces that share a common melody and are very similar to each other. What makes this collection different is that each of the 12 pieces are written in a different key signature.
At the time I wrote this piece in 2006, I always believed that key signatures can set the mood for any piece. For b minor, I have always believed that b minor has often been the most solemn and grave (in the heaviest sense) of the 12 minor scales. It is the one minor scale that often evokes sadness, but when transformed to its parallel major often evoke hope and rebirth.
More importantly, I wanted to write a collection of melodies for which two main themes were the basis for this collection of pieces: one of the main themes from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and Philip Glass's "Einstein on the Beach." There is a subtle influence of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D minor" early on, as well as two relatively little-known Russian composers in Genrikh Pachulski and Anatoly Lyadov. Listening to its repeating pattern, I wanted to emulate this feat, while also having influences from other musicians who are more notable for their methods of piano studying, especially Czerny and Schaum.
This piece is dedicated to the Catholic Church - for all the people who still believe and especially for all those who fought and still fight, as well as defended and still defend, what must be held tight, especially from the Bible. As a tribute to those who humbled themselves, I humbled myself by selection only one time signature for the entire piece - that in 2/4 time signature.

At the time I wrote this piece in 2006, I always believed that key signatures can set the mood for any piece. For e minor, I have always believed that e minor has often been a scale that can symbolize sadness in its most human form. One of the first solemn melodies that I can recall that was the basis for this melody was "First Loss," one of the pieces from Robert Schumann's "Album for the Young." This was written in e minor, and perhaps the confirmation of having written this piece in e minor originated from Alexander Griboyedov's "Waltz in E Minor."
More importantly, I wanted to write a collection of melodies for which two main themes were the basis for this collection of pieces: one of the main themes from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and Philip Glass's "Einstein on the Beach." This piece is dedicated to children whose lives have been cut short, with the first dedications being to both Megan Kanka and Adam Walsh. As a young child in 1994, the death of Megan Kanka was one of the first news stories I paid attention to and it was the reason I began following news on occasional basis. Over the course of the next two decade, other notable people I have dedicated this melody, including but not limited to, victims of school shootings in:
Beslan in 2004, Sandy Hook in 2012, Parkland in 2018, Columbine in 1999 and many others.
Other children who died in other crimes not related to school-shooting
Children who died of cancer

At the time I wrote this piece in 2006, I always believed that key signatures can set the mood for any piece. For e minor, I have always believed that c# minor has often been a scale related to romance, especially its equivalent of E major. Perhaps the most famous example one can argue would be Ludwig van Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata." Over the years, romance does not always come to fruition.
More importantly, I wanted to write a collection of melodies for which two main themes were the basis for this collection of pieces: one of the main themes from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and Philip Glass's "Einstein on the Beach." At the time I wrote this piece in 2006, I always believed that key signatures can set the mood for any piece. For e minor, I have always believed that c minor is one that has had solemn reverences. It is a key signature that requires the human mind to ponder and reflect, to remember and respect. The key of c minor is one that moves the human to tears and heavy emotion.
More importantly, I wanted to write a collection of melodies for which two main themes were the basis for this collection of pieces: one of the main themes from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and Philip Glass's "Einstein on the Beach." This piece is dedicated to the victims of genocide and war crimes. The Srebrenica Massacre of 1995 and the victims of Africa's Slave Trade were the basis for this piece, as well as:
Victims of the Holocaust
Victims of Armenian Genocide.
I chose to title this in Dutch to symbolize The Hague and its never-ending quest to bring to justice those who commit such atrocities on human life. Additionally, as a way of symbolizing unity through differences, note that all time signature changes will have the denominator at 4. This was strictly also as experimental.

At the time I wrote this piece in 2006, I always believed that key signatures can set the mood for any piece. For d-sharp minor, I have always believed that d-sharp minor, and its enharmonic equivalent e-flat minor, is one that doesn't always get the recogition it deserves, but when utilized, can set the stage to pack a walloping punch, especially when it has to assume another identity. More information to come late.
More importantly, I wanted to write a collection of melodies for which two main themes were the basis for this collection of pieces: one of the main themes from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and Philip Glass's "Einstein on the Beach." This piece is dedicated to America's military. They, like d-sharp minor, are not seeking glory, but just looking to make a name in history. On a side note for experimentation purposes, the numerator remains at 2, but the denominators swice around among 2, 4, 8 and 16.
