This string quartet was composed for a competition at the Imperial War Museum, London for the Solaris Quartet. It coincided with the 2008 exhibition "In Memoriam: Remembering the Great War" which documented the hundred year anniversary of the beginning of World War I. The Quartet is reflective and begins with a simple hymn-like tune before building towards the final realisation of this tune conveying the bravery and dignity of all those human beings who had to venture into such inhumane scenarios.
