This set of seven duets was written for an adult pupil. The first duet part is a single line of music only (written on two staves), split between the hands. This means the player who is neither experienced at playing duets, and is still in the early stages of learning, can experience playing a piece with another more advanced player, or teacher. The single line part can be split at the player's discretion, or played with one hand.
The experience for the pupil was rewarding. One of them was played in a concert by myself and the pupil.
Some of the movements are haunting, expressive and slow, others a lot more dramatic.
They can, of course, be enjoyed by anyone, and may be useful for those with temporary or permanent injuries, where only one hand will not, in this case, prevent them from still enjoying duets, and would make nice concert pieces.
and with almost no alteration, they can also be played as solos !
