This was one of a set of thirty five pieces written by my pupils and myself. We each wrote either poetry or prose, to be chosen and used as inspiration for a composition, by another member of the group. One of the pupils came back rather apologetically, saying she was not good at poetry. I actually found her simple, clear piece rather inspiring...! She herself writes some lovely music too.
I do not normally write anything with even the least flavour of jazz - but this has a slightly list, jazzy feel. She did me a favour - I found a new-to me style I could try !
I tried to capture the lazy feel of warm summer days, with a bi of "summer sparkle" too....
