Originally written for the choir of All Saints, Birchington, this short setting of the Requiem Mass comprises the Requiem Aeternam, Kyrie / Christe Eleison (with the Reproaches sung over), Sanctus, Pie Jesu, Agnus Dei, Lux Aeterna & In Paradisum. Mostly SATB (with organ accompaniment or a capella) but with solos / duets in five of the movements, it should present no real problems for a more experienced small choir of anything above about a dozen voices with suitable soloists. Lasting approximately 18 minutes, this could easily be used liturgically, either in full or just selections, without adding unduly to the length of the service. Equally, an ideal piece for a concert or similar. The recording is of the première - including the occasional "live moment" - sorry. Comments from the audience that evening describe this as: "inspiring and moving"; "a truly spiritual experience"; "first class - on par with all the great composers" and even "spine-tingling". Now fully re-set, with very minor revisions.
