Romance for domra with orchestra is a lyrical contemplative work for domra. The rich timbre palette of this instrument is able to convey all the sincere experiences and feelings of a person.
The lyrical theme of domra accompanied by the hammered chords of the orchestra in its symphonic development reaches a powerful culminating wave. And at its very peak, it breaks off, leaving domra alone to fight with the surrounding elements.
Folk instruments are quite young. They appeared on the big stage only at the end of the XIX century and continue to develop to this day. If this had happened earlier, I am sure that Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov and other Russian composers would not have passed them by. These are bright original coloristic tools that are unlike anything else with their own unique colors. And if you use them skillfully, you can create a very unusual, bright, interesting essay.
It is great that now, at the beginning of the XXI century, there is a lot of new music for these instruments. Music is very different both in style and content. The authors experiment and search for a new, unusual sound of instruments both with the help of techniques, and with the help of content and image structure. "Nationality" of these instruments in the traditional sense are gradually synthesized with "academic". There are big serious works. There has been a tremendous increase in performance skills. All this contributes to the emergence of new compositions for folk instruments.
