“Grand March” is part of the famous four-act opera “Aida” composed by Giuseppe Verdi by request of the Khedive of Egypt Isma'il Pasha. It is used in the 2nd act to mark the victory of the Egyptians over the Ethiopians. Grand March is also known as ‘triumphal march’ and is a common musical form used to describe victory and joy. Beethoven, Elgar, Grieg, Glazunov and other composers wrote such marches but Verdi’s Grand March is perhaps the most known. It often sounds during the official graduation ceremonies and even influenced the national anthem of the Philippines.

Geniales, zeitloses klassisches Stück. Außer allem Zweifel hat jeder Mensch es mehrmals gehört. Gute Version für Stimme.

The Triumphal March! An excellent piece by a great mind. I was lucky enough to be present at the opera live in Vienna and must say it is very impressive, both how and the music. It is greatly that now a lot of graduates remember this march as the music played during their graduation ceremony.
