A setting for SATB acappella of a few lines from Walt Whitman's "Song of The Open Road," this piece is a short, dignified statement about choosing one's own way in life, which I was moved to compose after seeing the film "Billy Elliot" for the first time. It is requested that choirs wishing to perform the work purchase individual copies of the score for each singer at $1 per copy.

The audio file is a recording of a live performance in 2015 by Vancouver's queer classical choir, Cor Flammae, with the composer conducting.
