'Von der heimlichen Rosen / From the secret Roses' has the subtitle "Oh, wer um alle Rosen wüsste / Oh, who knew about all the roses". It is a LOVE SONG. The rose traditionally symbolized the beloved. Think of the 'Roman de la Rose' from the 13th century. But Christian Morgenstern (1871-1914) dedicates this poem to all roses. A bold and sublime thought. And so it is a HYMN to the FEMALE MYSTERY. With an allusion & reminder of the Tao Te Tjing, 6?
(English text follows in the comment below.) In German:
dir selbst verwandelte Gestalt.
Oh, wer um alle Rosen wüßte,
die rings in stillen Gärten stehn -
oh, wer um alle wüßte, müßte
wie im Rausch durchs Leben gehen.

English translation:
'From the secret roses
Oh, who knew about all the roses
who stand around in quiet gardens -
oh, who knew about them all, had to
go through life like in a frenzy.
You break in with rough senses
as like a wind in a forest -
and you blow away like a fragrance,
transformed into yourself.
Oh, who knew about all the roses
who stand around in quiet gardens -
oh, who knew about them all, had to
go through life like in a frenzy.'
