A swift, stormy play of philosophical content is built on one performing breath. The continuous movement of the sixteenth notes in the piano part creates a feeling of inexhaustible flow, against which the rest of the parts are built. The play can also be considered as a poetic picture of a natural waterfall. In this case, the lines of the poem "Noise, noise from a steep peak, Do not shut up, the stream is gray! " (Evgeny Baratynsky) are well suited to the musical content of the play.
