The title of the composition is derived from it having been originally written for English hornist Claire Chenette of the Knoxville, TN Symphony Orchestra and Queen City of the Mountains is one of the nicknames for Knoxville, TN. Marked “Playful, Dance-like”, Queen City of the Mountains Waltz is a 3-minute musical work for English horn solo in triple meter.
