The title of this composition for violin and orchestra, written in 2002, is inspired by the attack that hit the station of Bologna (Italy) on August 2, 1980. In the concluding part we recognize the quotation from the song "Biko" by Peter Gabriel, single published in the same year of the Bologna massacre, dedicated to the South African anti-apartheid activist arrested by the police in August 1977.
The orchestra consists of 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, 1 tuba, timpani, 2 percussionists, violins I, violins II, violas, cellos, double basses.
