Even though my Third String Quartet is in one movement, it is very clearly sectioned in nine parts, who are merging. After an Introduction (Misterioso. Do not hurry) the Tempo accelerates into Allegro. Afterwards we find us in a Adagio (Very lyrical). With a unhurried "Tempo di Ländler" we move on. The following Allegro developments themes of the previous sections and leads through a connecting passage in the same tempo back to the Allegro from the opening. After a short "Più allegro"- sequence the tempo gradually slows down, until the piece gets slower and softer and fades after a quote of the "Grimming-Song" into nothingness.
