Composed for the guitar quartet Asterion in 2018, the work Avant le regard posé sur l’infiniment petit by Arturo Gervasoni is based on repetitive, minimal and modal musical processes. The first part, polymetric, is made up of finely shifted repeated musical cells, while the second part of the work, measured, reveals a duality between rich and calm harmonic colours and very lively melodic and rhythmic elements.
