"Stabat Mater" for soprano and tenor soloists, 4-part mixed choir, and orchestra op.104 was written within the framework of the composer's doctoral studies
at the Ionian University, Greece, under the supervision of Professor Josef Papadatos. The work is based on the classic Latin text of the Catholic Church dedicated to the Virgin Mary and her sorrow and grief under the Cross of her Son. It consisted of eight uninterrupted parts, which follow the parts of the text in order. It follows a multilingual style that combines serial-atonal and tonal idioms.
