The piece is a short duet for piano and Violin. The inspiration came to me whilst reading the score for Antonio Bazzini's 'La Ronde Des Lutins' at which I thought that the violinist, upon first looking at it, must have been quite apprehensive about learning all of it, so i imagined, what else could make playing the violin even harder, thus was born the idea of 'Playing the Violin Whilst Dodging a Cat.'
