There are hundreds of tawdry knock-offs of this famous piece online. Many claim to be simplified—or even "easy"—but those that are indeed less challenging than Satie’s original are usually thin and scrawny-sounding; while those that retain the music’s authentic character are often not really simplified at all—they’ve just had a few fingerings or other editorial markings added. If you’ve been searching among the scores of scores hoping to find a version that is not too difficult but retains the unique and unmistakable sound of the original... look no further: c'est ici! (The score is only a page long, so the score preview is actually my rather loquacious prefatory note, which explains how I made the piece more playable while preserving its warm and mellow character.)
