This sprightly minuet, originally a song in Purcell's opera Dioclesian, is arranged in an ideal key for a student oboist, flutist, recorder player, or violinist; Purcell's bass line is fleshed out for the accompanist in a seriously contrapuntal manner; and virtually every note of both the solo and the accompaniment is marked with the articulation that will bring this sparkling baroque dance to life.
