“Wannabe” was in many ways a ‘debut’ for Britain’s legendary girl group Spice Girls. It was the debut single written during their debut session of professional songwriting for their debut 1996 album “Spice”. The composition is a pop-rap uptempo dance song that represents a mix of various music styles. Wannabe became one of the first symbols of the group’s ‘girl philosophy’, its main message highlighting and empowering the notion of female friendship. In 1997, the song became Best British-Written Single and Best Single at the BRIT Awards the same year.

it's fun to realize how old this song seems now and how iconic it was for the 90es :)
