“The Man Who Sold the World” is the title track from the album of the same name by the English rock legend David Bowie. Bowie wrote the song in 1970 and released it as the 3rd track on the album. The genre of the original song can be characterized as a mixture of glam, psychedelic and art rock. In 1995, Bowie reworked the song for concerts making it darker in mood, and adding percussion and a heavier bassline to it. “The Man Who Sold the World” reminded the critics of Lovecraft’s horror-fantasy and is said to have been inspired by W.H. Mearns’ poem “Antigonish”. The song was covered by a number of artists including Lulu, Nirvana, Midge Ure and Richard Barone.

It's bizarre, it's paranoid, it's weird, strange and futuristic. These just a few reasons I love Bowie's The Man Who Sold the World :) You will never get tired of playing, no matter what instrument you can handle, piano, guitar or marimbas. The Bowie style can't be mistaken for any music style in the world. The wonderful mix of hard rock and folk elements, the score melody makes you feel all ups and downs of the composition. Oh what a true talent David was. *feeling nostalgic
