Recorded in 1967, “My Cup Runneth Over” is a song by the American pop singer and actor known as Ed Ames. Ed was a 60’s pop star and a member of the group the “Ames Brothers”. “My Cup Runneth Over” is one of his most popular hits of the time, along with “When the Snow is in the Roses” and “Who Will Answer”. The title of the song comes from the Hebrew Bible, it’s a quotation from Psalm 23:5 and according to one of the interpretations means “I have more than enough for my needs”. Besides Ed Ames, this phrase has been extensively used in music by other artists like Harvey Schmidt, Musical Island Boys, Bob Marley, Eminem and many others. Ed Ames’ version became US No. 8 pop hit.

It's a very deep song in fact and I'm glad there are still musicians performing it.

Grossartiges Lied. Tiefe Stimme, sinnvoller Text, wunderschöne Melodie. Mit diesem Song ist kein moderner Popquatsch zu vergleichen.

One of the most beautiful love songs, they are not making music like that anymore today (
