Originally, “Comes Love” is a jazz standard composed by Sam.H. Stept in 1939. Its lyrics were written by Lew Brown and Charles Tobias. The composition was featured in “Yokel Boy”, a 1939 Broadway musical. In 1999, the song was recorded by a UK-based American jazz singer Stacey Kent and became part of the album “Love Is ... The Tender Trap” produced by her husband, a tenor saxophonist Jim Tomlinson. “Comes Love” is Stacey’s attempt to step away from her traditional swing style performing. The tenor solo by Jim Tomlinson is done in the style of Stan Getz.

ich persönlich bin eher eine jazzperson als etwas anderes, deshabl sind mir die lieder von stacey kent gut bekannt. dieser titel ist ein absoluter favorit von mir, und nach meiner meinung können keine coverversionen das original übertreffen.

Stacey Kent… the classics of jazz, a very bright performer. Comes Love in her performance can remove any depression and stress whatsoever) I loved Norah Jones' cover of the song as well, though.
