In German, the word for "brighter" is "heller." The composer Stephen Heller's Opus 47, a set of piano technique teaching pieces, lives up to the meaning of his name in German. Opus 47 is a lovely set of cheerful melodies and artistic harmonies which present a challenge for the late intermediate to early advanced pianist.
The exercises contained in “Preparation to Learning ‘The Brighter Exercises’” prepare late intermediate and early advanced piano students for the technical requirements contained in Stephen Heller’s Opus 47, by abstracting the basic components and presenting them in a form which is easier to master. Students who practice these exercises will experience accelerated learning of Opus 47, and will better be able to master the voicing, phrasing, and artistry present in Opus 47.
NOTE: Stephen Heller’s Opus 47 must be purchased separately.
