The Elementary Mariachi Orff Ensemble Song Collection was compiled to give future mariachi students and their teachers a sequenced song list consistent with the principles of Kodaly/Orff pedagogy. It is not enough to simply arrange a mariachi song for students to sing and play with Orff instruments. In order to have more success with future mariachi students the elementary mariachi teacher must keep in mind the sequenced Kodaly/Orff curriculum. The Level I songs include En El Monte, Papas y Papas Para Papa, Tortillitas De Manteca, Sana Sana Colita De Rana, Que Le Dice Un Pez, Oro Parece Plata No Es, Uno Dos y Tres, Si o No? Tengo Una Vaca Lechera, Una Mosca Parada En La Pared, Naranja Dulce, Tin Marin, and El Burrito Canta. The Level II songs include La Rueda De San Miguel, A Guanchilopostle, Senora Santana, Mambru Se Fue A La Guerra, Pin Pon Es Un Muneco, Tengo Una Muneca, Los Pollitos Dicen, Tingalayo, El Piojo y La Pulga, La Vibora De La Mar, La Bamba, De Colores, and Don Gato. The Level III songs include Ya Me Voy Para Laredo, Carino, Cielito Lindo, El Caballito, El Quelite, Las Mananitas I, Las Mananitas II, La Raspa, La Cucaracha, Cachito Cachito, Los Cochinitos, Andale Juana/Dale Dale Dale, Mi Rancho, and No Me Molestes Mosquito.
