Angus MacLellan (1878-1963) wrote "An innis aigh" about Margaree Island in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where he was the lighthouse keeper for 34 years. This arrangement of the song was written for the Vancouver Gaelic Choir's August 2000 tour of Nova Scotia. They sang it in the original Scots Gaelic, but it is published here with a very singable new English translation, in hopes that more choirs will add this haunting tune to their repertoire.
