“Summer of ‘69” is a rock song by the famous singer & songwriter from Canada, one of the best-selling artists ever – Bryan Adams. This up-tempo composition was written by Adams together with another Canadian musician Jim Vallance who had been working with Bryan for a long time and is the co-author of his popular hits like “Cuts Like a Knife”, “Kids Wanna Rock” and “Heaven”. The single “Summer of ‘69” had an international success, being named “one of the best” by many music publications in Canada and the US. The lyrical interpretations of the song vary, from making love in the summertime to nostalgia for the cultural revolution and Apollo 11 moon-landing. Bryan Adams is also the author of such popular rock songs as “Run to You” and “I Do It for You”.

Summer of 69 is great classic worth learning to play for everyone who grew at that amazing epoch. And even those who didn't can perfectly relate to the song - we all reminisce once in a while our carefree teenage times and the freedom of being young. Believe it or now, singing 69 to the guitar accompaniment gives you an incredibly real feeling of Adams' intentions as a songwriter - it fills you with the thrill of teen time, so simple and beautiful. The presence of tabs in the guitar sheet music will greatly assist the beginner to master the composition, so don't worry about that in case you had doubts.
