This piece is written for the Danish 11-piece vocal ensemble VOX11 and the lyrics tell about a slow wakeup in bed and about how rays of light make their way through the window to spread energy and warmth in a sleepy body.
The arrangement is playing with different ways of grouping 6/8 and it’s essential that all singers relate to each other as well as the beatboxer in order for the groove to be light and have other accents than beat “1” and beat “4” - don’t make it into a waltz! In general all releases* of should be active and thereby contribute to the groove.
The “trio” in the soprano part (bar 70 and bar 103) could have an alto singing the lower part for those sections.
This song is released on the album TAKE-OFF by the Danish vocal ensemble VOX11.
