This treatment of the chorale "Mit Freuden zart" ("With Joy So Sweet") is just what an organ postlude should be: boisterous and brief! (Hence my subtitle, "renn zum Ausfahrt!" - "run for the doors!"). The manuals play a dense jumble of chorale fragments, all imitated five ways from Sunday, while the pedals thunder out the cantus firmus in long notes. Two minutes later, there's a short blast on the solo trumpet, your left foot finds its way to bottom C, and it's off to brunch!
This is a 10th-anniversary "second edition" of the piece, with better typography, more detailed articulations, and substantial improvements to the actual composition. I'm also rather proud of the new audio file - although it's still basically just a score playback, it has been tweaked to a fare-thee-well, and I think it gives a pretty good impression of how the piece actually sounds in a human performance - enjoy!
