Beginner Mariachi Director Resource Book is compiled in a way that a first time mariachi director can teach beginner mariachi students with materials provided. The Suggested Scope and Sequence is merely an outline which can be changed depending on the availability of instruments, student ability, time, or other factors. If no instruments are available the director can start with the Beginner Mariachi Vocalist Resource Book teaching vocal technique and music notation (theory). If instruments are available then divide the class into violin section, trumpet section, guitar/vihuela section and guitarron section. Teach from the first part of each instrument resource book (Beginner Mariachi Violin Resource Book, Beginner Mariachi Trumpet Resource Book, Beginner Mariachi Guitar/Vihuela Resource Book, and Beginner Mariachi Guitarron Resource Book) which include care of the instrument, holding the instrument, playing notes, chords, etc. Always teach the music notation (theory) as you teach playing. Once all students can play three notes the director can move into First Mariachi Studies in the Key of G Part 1 followed by Part 2. Make sure all students learn to play all the exercises and memorize all songs. Continue with First Mariachi Studies in the Key of D Part 1 and 2, First Mariachi Studies in the Key of A Part 1 and 2, making sure all students learn to play all the exercises and memorize all songs. It is optional to learn First Mariachi Studies in the Key of E. The director may want to start with the Beginner Mariachi Songs. These were placed in a sequential order that I used but the director may choose a different order. The songs include Los Patinadores, La Barca De Oro, La Jesucita, La Llorona, Despierta, Corrido De Cananea, Por Fin, Alla En El Rancho Grande, Reloj, Cielio Lindo, De Colores, Las Mañanitas, Las Golondrinas, La Feria De Las Flores, La Valentina, and La Cucaracha.
